ALAN JONES is entirely self-taught as an artist, but admits to having lots of encouragement (to have a go), firstly from his teachers, then family and friends. His artworks constantly astound people and with the combinations of depth and accuracy of detail, along with the stunning vibrance of colours, many people mistake his works for photographs.
Each piece takes Alan 2-3 weeks to complete in which time Alan becomes totally immersed in the painting. He starts with a pencil scetch then begins to build up the painting in oils, firstly the rider then the bike and finally the background and only finishes when he is 100% happy.
Motorcycling has always been a passion of Alans’. Alan was hooked on bikes at the tender age of 16 but many accidents, mostly self inflicted, shortened his riding interest, especially the "BIG" one at 18 years old, with many broken and damaged parts of him saying enough!
